  • What is a Real Property Report (RPR)? – A Real Property Report is a legal document that clearly establishes both the boundaries and improvements such as buildings, fences and driveways on a property. The report is composed of a drawing of the physical features of the property and a written statement of the Surveyor's observations or concerns. An RPR can be relied upon by the buyer, the seller, the lender and the municipality as an accurate representation of the improvements on your property.
  • Do I need an RPR? – You may need an RPR if you are planning to sell your home or if you are making changes to your property that require a Development Permit from the city. In the case of a real estate transaction, the RPR provides a legal representation of the property for sale with respect to improvements and property lines. It eliminates potential for confusion over what is being sold and identifies any potential concerns, such as bylaw infractions prior to transfer of ownership.
  • How do I get an RPR? – Use this link to access our RPR order form. You will be asked for both the legal address (the address on your title, typically Lot X, Block X, Plan X) and your municipal address (123 – 45th Avenue SW).   • Can I just use my old RPR? – Real Property Reports are typically acceptable for 10 years after they are prepared assuming no significant changes have been made to the property.
